Membership of The Educational Panel
Since the inception of the panel in May 2006 we have all recognised the strength and benefit of working as a team. Combining the years of experience along with local knowledge The Panel have been able to influence the style and content of the range of resources now available.
There are 14 potential places available of The Educational Panel. We currently have 10 members and therefore would welcome the support of a further 4 like-minded professional educationalist from local authorities or School Sport Partnerships.
It is of paramount importance that we sustain the longevity of this exciting project by having a continuous flow of positive ideas of how to support and develop visual learning in education.

Martin Radmore - Head of PE, Sport and Physical Development Service
Norfolk County Council
I trained as a Physical Education specialist at Bedford College of Higher Education obtaining a B.Ed. (Hons) Degree in Human Movement Studies. I worked in various Schools in Bedfordshire LEA before joining the Advisory Service there to implement the National Junior Sports Programme.
A national trainer for the School Sports Partnership Programme, Tutor / Trainer in various areas of activity and sport, I have always seen the need to use visual material to support learning in PE. Within my current employment with Norfolk County Council, I have been able to develop this interest and passion and have worked with ICT in PE quite heavily. Norfolk Secondary Schools for example, use MotionCoach Visual Analysis software and virtually all Norfolk Primary Schools now have visual material to support the teachers and pupils in learning in PE.
I have been delighted to work with The Visual Learning Company and The Educational Advisory Panel, which was especially formed to support the development of its range of products and services, which now include the Visual Learning DVD Collection. They are a real must in terms of providing a high quality resource to support pupils knowing and understanding what it is they are trying to achieve (High Quality PE Outcome number 2 - DCSF).
As a result of this improved knowledge and understanding we are beginning to see pupils who are more motivated, more committed, more willing to get involved and who enjoy their PE and sport lessons even more. I have been able to work with SSP's outside of Norfolk and all of these are now using visual material to support and enhance the learning.
It is easy to use and so effective - I have been delighted with the end result of the work with The Visual Learning Company and recommend this product to you unreservedly.

Sue Connor - Nottinghamshire PE Advisor
I have been the Advisory Teacher PE and Sport in Nottinghamshire for 12 years having qualified as a physical education teacher in 1973. I have taught extensively in Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire together with teaching part-time at Loughborough and Nottingham Trent Universities.
Together with my role as a national tutor for the Youth Sport Trust, I am also responsible for the PE CPD programme in Nottinghamshire and deliver much of the training. Part of my work requires me to identify and develop resources to support the teaching of physical education in primary and secondary schools.
Visual stimulus plays a vital role in teacher and pupil learning. It was for this reason that I joined The Educational Advisory Panel and became involved in the development of the Core Task DVDs, which have been produced by the Visual Learning Company. Teachers in Nottinghamshire have been excited by these resources and are convinced that they will have an impact on the quality of learning for their pupils.
Helen Plimmer - Leeds PE Advisor
I trained at Carnegie – Leeds Metropolitan University obtaining a BA Hons Human Movement Studies and PGCE Physical Education and Geography

I have recently joined The Educational Advisory Panel who are working with The Visual Learning Company. There has been much research into the different ways we learn and I can really see the value and importance of visual learning. I really believe the resources that have been produced will enhance the learning of both pupils and staff alike.
I think this is a new and exciting area of development that has a major contribution to the implementation of Information Communication Technology in Physical Education.
Bev Hannibal - Hertfordshire PE Advisor - BEd, Cert. Ed.
I have been the County Adviser for PE in Hertfordshire for almost 5 years where I have advised schools and teachers on curriculum PE. I am responsible for the LDA and am currently lead trainer and verifier for the NCPD. I was previously a specialist teacher of Physical Education and have worked in schools, FE colleges, Higher Education and for an examination board supporting GCSE, A Level and BTEC course.
As co-ordinator of the LDA and as lead trainer for Hertfordshire I felt it was vital to be involved with the Visual Learning Company and The Educational Advisory Panel who are clearly a group of professionals working to raise standards through Physical Education and the resources we have been able to develop are an invaluable tool to teachers and pupils in our schools. It is an excellent way to share best practice and support teachers CPD.
Tracey Clarke - Mary Rose Sports College in Portsmouth
I am Assistant Head Teacher at Mary Rose School in Portsmouth, a Special School for young people between the ages of 2 and 19 with Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties. I have been teaching for 13 years and have taught PE in Comprehensive, Grammar and Special schools. Prior to joining Mary Rose School, I was a Director of Specialism for a High Performing Specialist Sports College in Berkshire and have presented on a number of issues related to learning and teaching and achievement and attainment for Youth Sports trust, especially in the field of SEN.
I am trained a TOPS trainer, National CPD tutor and in my current role am a Lead Practitioner for the SSAT on the new National Curriculum for KS3 & 4.
I joined The Educational Advisory Panel as I feel visual learning is a very powerful tool especially for young people with learning difficulties. It enables the young people to really assess their work and identify what they need to do to improve their practice – A real tool that does not need to be just about PE and Sport but something that enables the young people to develop skills that can be used across their learning.
I feel that this exciting project has an unusual element in so far as the Directors of the Visual Learning Company have agreed to work with the Educational Advisory Panel in developing and designing meaningful solutions to meet the needs of both teachers and pupils.
Ken Caudrelier
I qualified through the Institute of Directors – Diploma in Company Direction. For 5 years I was an active member of the IoD’s Professional Development Committee where I was responsible for the further development of director training. I was the founder and first chairman of the IoD Diploma Network.
I have a Professional Tennis Coach holding both a full LTA licence and the prestigious International PTR licence. In addition to my sporting knowledge I have also been involved in the education sector for over 12 years both in a teaching capacity, as a Governor of a Grammar School and more recently as a main introducer of the use of visual analysis as a teaching aid.
I am passionate to see the positive use of visual media within the education and sporting sectors. I have recognised that although specialist software is needed it is the way in which this software and the support services around it combine together that will truly make the use of visual media come alive as a permanent and valuable teaching tool.
Louise Caudrelier
I was awarded a BA Honours Degree in Business and Management through Oxford Brookes University in September 2004. During this time I have followed my fathers’ keen interest in providing visual aids for education and joined him in 2005 to promote ‘The Power of Visual Learning.’
As a student I enjoyed PE and swam for my school. I am fascinated by the impact that Visual Learning has on pupils today and how it can help improve standards and build confidence. The reason I am part of the panel is to provide a meaningful range of products and services that will help support teachers and inspire children to get involved with PE.
THE SPORTING ADVISORY GROUP
This group of advisors has not yet been established however we are currently in discussion with a number of sporting bodies/organisations due to the interest that has been shown following the formation of The Educational Advisory Panel.
